Philippine Media Voices

There had been voices that occupy our airwaves through radio and television. Some of them have signed off. Nevertheless, their comparable importance is worth mentioning. These voices had become familiar and popular among a wide spectrum of audiences. But I have my own take about their naturalness and I feel that it would be interesting to write about them and see how others would interact. I could not possibly enumerate all notable names, though.

Among men, I find the following to be very natural, “good-sounding” and effective: Frankie Evangelista, Harry Gasser, and Alex Santos; and for women, Korina Sanches’ voice stands out. I also find Bernadeth Sembrano, Vicky Morales, Mel Tiangco and Cheri Mercado natural and effective, except that the latter two sound too nasal.

I find Rey Langit too unnatural; followed by Ted Failon. Funny tones of sing-song of varied styles come from Mike Enriquez, Arnold Clavio, and more interestingly from showbiz reporters Mario Dumaual and Lhar Santiago. Kris Aquino is something else.
